Send fee sms to the Philippines

Chikka (www.chikka.com)
Location: Philippines

Chikka allows you to send free sms to mobile subscribers in the Philippines from all around the world. Your friends could also reply to you from their mobile phones or downloadable messenger clients.

Pros:

  • You can send a free text to anyone in your address book, or text Facebook buddies
  • You can exchange instant messages with your online friends
  • Easy to navigate and to use interface, with customizable themes
  • Their downloadable messenger client will allow you to send free sms to other countries including US, Guam, UK, Hong Kong, Spain, India, Indonesia, Italy, Philippines, and Saipan.
  • No advertisement or surveys to complete, just create an account and then send free sms to anyone in the Philippines.

Cons:
  • You only have a limited amount of free text per day. The amount of free text is automatically replenished daily
  • You can send free sms using chikka's downloadable clients and apps, but they will charge you a small fee for replying to one if you are using your mobile phone's service provider.

The verdict:

Chikka is a great application to use since they give you credits for free texting. I would advise you, though, to first give your friends a heads-up anytime you send free sms to them via your chikka account. This is because they would occur a fee from their mobile service provider if they accidentally reply to a chikka message instead of your mobile phone number.

  • It contains a phonebook for your contacts
  • Points earned can also be used to download games and ringtones for your mobile phone
  • Quick and easy to use. You just have to register

Cons:
  • You need to fill out survey forms to earn points for redeeming free sms
  • Your sms may sometime contain ads
  • The email you're using should not contain special characters in order to sign up
  • One sms consists only of up to 160 characters. 136 characters are reserved for your message while the rest is for advertisement.
  • Your inbox will soon be filled up with emails containing surveys and advertisement

Final Say:

Its great if you don't mind doing surveys. I'd recommend using a different email and not your main one, though, when registering with them so that your inbox would not be cluttered with surveys and advertisements
